Characteristics of apps with the "Always allow during downtime" setting enabled
While apps set to "Always Allow" are never blocked under any conditions, apps set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" can only be used within the "Allowed Time" and are blocked during "Restricted Time." This is useful when you want to allow unrestricted use of apps like phone, messaging, and KakaoTalk, but still want to block them during late evening hours.
Apps set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" have the following characteristics:
1. They can be used without limit during the "Allowed Time," independent of the "Daily Device Usage Time."
During the "Allowed Time," these apps are not restricted by "Device Usage Time" or "Game Usage Time" limits. However, they will be blocked during "Restricted Time" depending on the "Items to Restrict" settings.
For example, if you set "Device Usage Time" to 3 hours per day (Figure 1) and set the messaging app to "Always Allow During Allowed Time," the messaging app will not be blocked during the "Allowed Time," even if the child has exhausted their 3-hour daily limit.
When viewing statistics, the app usage time may appear to exceed 3 hours, as shown in <Figure 2>. This is because the usage time for the KakaoTalk app, which is set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" and thus not subject to usage limits, is included in the total.
If you want to view statistics while excluding the usage time of apps set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time," select the "Exclude Always Allowed Apps and Call Time" option.
2. Execution is blocked during "Restricted Time."
Unlike apps set to "Always Allow," which can be used even during "Restricted Time," apps set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" are blocked during restricted periods. This allows you to restrict app usage during the evening hours when the child should be sleeping.

Note: The category restriction for the app set to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" must be enabled under "Features to Restrict" below for it to be blocked during "Restricted Time."
For instance, if you set the YouTube app to "Always Allow During Allowed Time" but do not enable "Restrict Entertainment Apps" below, it will not be blocked during the designated restricted time and will remain available for unlimited use.
